ULOSINO closes May 25th

Since launching in November 2021, we haven't been able to make this culture better in the ways we had hoped. We want to take the time to make ULOSINO the best it can be as a set of tools to build up open source operating system culture across the world.

We have made the choice to sunset ULOSINO by May 25th. Osopcloud will replace ULOSINO in September. Thank you for using ULOSINO.

oasis is an independent Linux distribution, with many characteristics of BSD. "An ambitions project," it targets the power-user market. oasis is new to the scene; the "principles" here are "statically linked executables," simple file-based system configuration (within /etc), and overall modularity. oasis has no package management by default but "integrates well with OS-agnostic" repositories like pkgsrc (from NetBSD) and nix. A major feature here is a Lua-powered build system that shifts away from direct maintanence to "considerable up-front packaging cost." Pre-installed software are assorted into "sets" that can be easily managed.
